Vinny Reunov
Vinny Reunov is a Ukrainian artist born in 1963
Widely unknown artist Vinny Reunov deliberately balances on the boundary between mass and elite culture. His artistic biography is linked with such world cultural capitals as Kyiv, Moscow and London. In the 1980s in Kyiv in collaboration with artist Oleg Tistol he created manifesto called "Volitional Face of National Post Eclecticism", with main idea being a decision to designate national discourse as an object for creative study, to improve and rethink artistic language, traditions and the very foundations of painting. In 1988 he moved to Moscow, where he worked at "Furmannyy lane " squat. In the early 1990s, he became director and curator of Moscow Gallery at Trekhprudny lane (with Avdey Ter-Oganyan). Among his exhibitions are Mercy and Sea of Vodka (Gallery at Trekhprudny, Moscow), End of Millennium Art (World Economic Forum in Davos and National Gallery of Iceland in Reykjavik), Humanitarian Aid (ICA, London), Moscow Tour (London Film Festival).
Vinny Reunov currently lives and works in London and Kyiv.
