Global Warming

Nikita Zigura’s sculpture “Global Warming” is a striking visual reminder of the effects of the climate change around the globe. This artistic statement refers to the idea that the world cannot turn a blind eye to the threat of changes that have an ever deeper effect on every facet of our lives. We are increasingly losing harmony with nature by mercilessly exhausting the Earth’s resources. And yet humankind has the potential to restore this connection and to transform the world into a blooming garden. Even a minor step may catalyze change, so we are encouraged to take a closer look at our actions. And only after
doing the homework when it comes to ourselves and our mindsets can we reap thequintessential benefits.

The humankind is currently facing a serious challenge of the global warming, with its effects most noticeable in certain regions of the planet. These areas glow red on temperature maps, much like areas of combat on war maps. Two ripe white cherries are a symbolic artistic take on this global problem.

Combining aesthetics with a visual allegory, the artist invites us to consider our own contribution to the process, encourages a reconsideration of consumerist ethics, advises a responsible approach to nature and emphasizes the importance of mindful actions to ensure that we have a future.
